Accounting

Converse’s Accounting major and minor will prepare you for a career in private or public accounting, financial management, or graduate school. Degrees Offered

  • BS in Accounting
  • Minor in Accounting

Related Programs

  • BA or BS in Business Administration
  • BA, BS, or Minor in Economics

About Accounting

Accounting deals with the financial data needed to manage businesses in both the private and public sector.  Accounting professionals determine and communicate the financial operations of a business or organization. This field includes auditing, management accounting, financial accounting, international accounting, forensic accounting, tax accounting, and public-sector accounting.

Many accountants pursue Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification to diversify their job opportunities. CPAs may become entrepreneurs, starting their own accounting firms, or work as external auditors for major accounting firms. Others hold management positions in private companies, government and institutions.

  • Great local and regional internship opportunities
