Showing your school spirit and class pride through giving is a long-standing tradition at Converse. Each year during Reunion Weekend, we recognize and celebrate the classes who give the most to our beloved alma mater through a friendly fundraising competition called “It’s a Class Act!”
Two awards are presented annually: The “Gift Award” goes to the class that raises the largest total dollar amount for Converse, and the “Participation Award” goes to the class with the most number of gifts, no matter the amount. For the Class Act awards, only gifts to The Converse Fund (the area of greatest need) and/or Unrestricted Scholarships count towards the competition totals.
You can join the fun by reaching out to your friends and encouraging them to give to The Converse Fund in honor of your Converse classmates. Your generous gifts directly impact the entire Converse community, helping to enrich our programs, empower our people, and enhance our places on our beautiful, historic campus. Every gift, small or large, ensures that generations of students experience the power of a Converse education — now and forever.
Suggested fundraising goals for It’s a Class Act
As a suggested guideline, Converse recommends each class work towards a goal of raising $1,000 for each year since their graduation. For example, the 50th Reunion Golden Club class is encouraged to aim for a $50,000 class gift, whereas the 5th Reunion class is encouraged to aim for a $5,000 gift. Each class that meets their suggested goal will be recognized for their success at Reunion, whether or not they are the Class Act winners!
